What is metagaming and powergaming

How are you? You use OOC for anything which is out of character. Which would be smileys, short terms like wtf, lol, omg, rofl etc. Anything that is Out of your character. When you talk in OOC you use brackets. E Hey, lol Which means the world of your character, and other characters, which doesen't mean the world of the player who plays the characters. You don't use the brackets for IC. The IC chat should be like when you talk to anyone else IRL, without any simple worlds like etc, lol, thanx, ty etc They go hand-in-hand in this sort of game.

People who actually try to use things like Pun-pun though usually less extreme in a game shouldn't be taken seriously. The player threatening to roll up an epic pseudonatural in an ECL 5 game if you don't let him play a vampire monk shouldn't be taken seriously. Laugh at them enough, and maybe they'll get the point.

I think I can safely say that I can do powergaming, metagaming and roleplaying all just as well. Here are my takes on these three: 1 Powergaming - I have to admit, I do quite a lot of powergaming. I know it exists, and I've had quite a few opportunities to do Metagaming in games that were not too serious. However, my stance on metagaming is usually a very big, large, fat "NO". Metagaming ruins the gameplay a lot. That is the core of the game, in my opinion.
